24 November 2016 11:22

Today information policy of Kazakhstan needs transformation and in particular transition of the media sphere to market economy that will make our media competitive. It was declared by president of the Kazakhstan press club Asel Karaulova during expert discussion of the analytical «Kipr» group and Soros-Kazakhstan Fund on the subject "Information Policy of Kazakhstan in new conditions", BNews.kz correspondent reports.

Asel Karaulova considers that the market environment will allow media not to depend on the state order and will make them competitive.

"Today our media are not in the market field. In my opinion they will be able to compete normally when it happens. Because they will be financed through advertising not through the state order. Thus, if not to include media to the market sphere, the system will not exchange," Asel Karaulova said.

Media need to be developed but not through purchase of paid content as today development of custom Kazakhstan journalism is observed. The president of the Kazakhstan press club calls strengthening of understanding of communications importance at all levels and attention to this question, openness of the new ministry and the minister among positive trends of development of the state communications.

"The new Ministry shows openness, it is undoubted plus. Besides, amendments (to the Law On media) began to discuss actively. One more positive moment is the fact of creation of working groups associations which actively take part in discussion of the bill. We see that state structures are interested in adjustment of a two-way communication," A.Karaulova added.

Besides, Karaulova from other positive moments called development of regional communications, work with the population and search of creative approaches from the state.
