Astana outstripped Abu Dhabi on its growth rates: Asset Isekeshev

During the International innovative congress in Astana, Aset Isekeshev declared that the Kazakhstan capital advances all comparable capitals and the cities of the world on growth rates, BNews.kz correspondent reported.


"On growth rates Astana advances all comparable capitals and the cities, such as Abu Dhabi, Moscow, Ankara, Baku and others. From 280,000 people in the nineties the number of the capital grew to 1 million people. GDP of Astana in

18 years grew more than by 180 times, the number of subjects of MSB reached 100,000. The number of foreign tourists grew from 5,000 in the 90th year to 273,000. The number of hotels to 163,000," the mayor of Astana Asset Isekeshev said.

He declared that many issues will be resolved by means of new technology solutions. Even such simple, as the solution of transport traffic jams, cleaning of streets, intellectual transport model, record to the doctor, queues to nurseries and schools, intellectual lighting, management of thermal flows, safety of video surveillance.

"One of the key areas of work is Smart-Astana. It is not just a craze, any global megalopolis can't effectively develop without Smart-technologies. We developed the corresponding concept, determined the priority directions and projects.

At the first stage we will be focused on specific decisions which, first of all, will be directed to needs of citizens. Many issues will be resolved by means of new technology solutions, even such simple as the solution of transport traffic jams, cleaning of streets, intellectual transport model, record to the doctor, queues in kindergartens and schools, intellectual lighting, management of thermal flows, safety of video surveillance and many other things," the mayor of the capital promised.

Until the end of the year, 30 million tenge will be allocated to the best innovative companies.
