For half a year of Kazakhstan GDP grew by 4.2% - Ministry of Economy
For January-June, 2017 GDP of Kazakhstan has grown by 4,2% whereas in January-June, 2016 growth by 0,1% was observed, the minister of national economy Timur Suleymenov said during Kazakhstan Government meeting, BNews.kz correspondent reported.
"In the reporting period the economy of Kazakhstan developed in the conditions of stabilization of prices for exchange goods, increases in economic activity in the countries the main trade partners of Kazakhstan and also positive expectations concerning growth of world economy. Price of oil, despite her falling in June of this year to 46,9 dollars for barrel, keeps the stability. Following the results of 6 months 2017 it has developed at the level of 52,2 dollars for barrel that is one third higher than the similar level of 2016. Increase in prices is noted on all basic metals," the minister informed.
According to the updated data, as the head of department has noted, GDP of the eurozone has in annual terms grown in 1 quarter of this year by 1,7%, Russia – for 0,5%, China – for 6,9%.
In 2017, according to assessment of the IMF, renewal of economic activity will provide growth of world economy by 3,5%. GDP of China will grow by 6,7%, the EU – for 1,7%, Russia – for 1,4%.
In general, it is possible to note positive influence of external factors on economy of Kazakhstan and gradual stabilization of internal parameters of development of our economy.
"According to preliminary data, in January-June, 2017 GDP of Kazakhstan has grown by 4,2% (in January-June, 2016 growth by 0,1% was observed). The positive contribution to economy of production of goods was made by production of services and taxes on products," the minister said.
According to him, the industry (for 7,8%), construction (for 5,9%), agriculture (for 3,1%), transport and warehousing (for 3,9%) and trade (for 2,4%) became growth drivers in branches of economy.
These branches have provided growth of the short-term economic indicator by 5.8% in the first half of the year 2017.
