Prime Minister of Israel to visit Kazakhstan

The packet of important agreements will be signed within the visit to Kazakhstan of Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday. It is the first arrival of Netanyahu to Astana and to the Central Asian region in general. It is expected that Prime Minister of Israel will hold negotiations with the Kazakhstan leader Nursultan Nazarbayev and will participate in a joint business forum.

As ambassador of Israel in Kazakhstan Michael Brodsky noted, Netanyahu's visit is aimed at increasing the level of the political and economic relations between two states. A number of agreements, including on the civil aviation and cooperation in management of public services will be signed.

As expected, questions of economic interaction will be discussed. The joint business forum in which about 70 entrepreneurs from the Israel side will participate is planned in Astana. As "KAZNEX INVEST" agency on export and investments of the Ministry for investments and development of Kazakhstan reported, the action is directed to "activization of a trade and economic, investment cooperation of a business community of Kazakhstan and Israel, discussion of new opportunities for investments". In particular, discussion will concern such spheres as agrarian and industrial complex, medicine, power, civil safety and defense industry.

Simplification of business contacts will be promoted by establishment of straight air traffic between two countries which will be discussed within the visit, TASS reports.

Now Israel can not be in a number of large trading partners of Kazakhstan. For the first three quarters of this year the bilateral goods turnover constituted $237 million (0.5% of the total amount of foreign trade) from which $197 million are the share of the Kazakhstan export.

At the same time Astana heads for priority development of high-tech industries and agricultural industry - in both of these spheres Israel achieved great success and ready to offer interesting projects to the Kazakhstan side.

Within Netanyahu's visit agreement signature about cooperation in the field of agricultural industry, the declaration on intentions of creation of an agricultural cluster in the south of Kazakhstan is provided.

It is expected that during Netanyahu's negotiations with the Kazakhstan leader questions of the regional and international security will be considered. It acquires special relevance because Kazakhstan will take the place of the non-permanent member of the UN Security Council from next year.
