28 November 2016 10:17

2,436 orphan children need housing in the West Kazakhstan region, BNews.kz correspondent reports. It was declared at board of regional prosecutor's office session.

Heads of executive bodies, deputies, representatives of public organizations, specialists of managements and departments of education and social protection participated in session.

"People on the waiting list received 1,492 apartments in the West Kazakhstan region for the last three years. Only 100 of them were issued to the inmates of a Children’s Home. The analysis showed that 2,436 orphan children need housing for today. 1,249 of them already reached the age of majority," prosecutor of the West Kazakhstan region Saparbek Nurpeisov reported.

966 children are lacking of parental protection on the region, 204 of them are living in specialized agencies. Parents of 226 children are deprived of their rights, 86 children’s parents refused education.

"It is the terrifying numbers. Seven orphan children died for various reasons for the last three years. Five minors were exposed to sexual violence, three of them in orphanages. The facts of orphan children’s occupation in prostitution are elicited. More than 300 children do not receive the alimony from their parents," assistant prosecutor of the West Kazakhstan region Almagul Ismagulova said.

Employment of graduated orphanages is still the big problem. Only 22 former orphans are registered in bodies of employment for the last three years and 13 of them are employed.

"It is necessary to develop a package of measures for labor education. Work did not spoil anybody yet. Our youth needs to be adapted for normal life," deputy of a maslikhat of the West Kazakhstan region Lyan Tursynov said.

Also it was reported that Department of education of the West Kazakhstan region is planning to develop and realize "Uralsk without orphanages" project.
