South Kazakhstan official suspected of plunder of 68 million tenge from budget

In the Southern Kazakhstan region investigation of criminal case concerning bribary is completed. The deputy director of highways department Seyduvaliyev who in collusion with the head of Strike and Co LLP Sadyrbayevy overestimated actual cost of the parcels of land, stole the budgetary funds in the amount of 68 million tenge allocated for purchase of sites for "Western Europe - Western China" highway construction, BNews.kz reported.


Similar crimes are stopped in the Akmola, Jambyl, North Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan and Kostanay regions.
The carried-out analysis of corruption offenses in case of a construction of highways showed that they are connected with plunder, abuse of ex-officio full powers, bribery and office forgery.
The reasons promoting making of corruption offenses are as follows:
- abuse of regulations of carrying out state procurements in case of determination of the service provider;
- overestimate of project cost in case of development of the design estimates;
- availability of "kickbacks" to officials;
- economy of funds for construction materials.
