N.Nazarbayev and D.Rogozin discussed further development of Baikonur
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin, Akorda's press service reports.
During the meeting the course of the work on further development of Baikonur launch site question and questions on defense and arms was discussed by the governments of Kazakhstan and Russia.
"We already discussed a question of creation of joint businesses in the sphere of defense industry. For this purpose we created the separate ministry," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government in details informed the president of Kazakhstan on technical aspect of future Baiterek project.
"This project is directed to creation of essentially new missile and space equipment and upgrade of a starting complex. In case of official registration by heads of two states of the reached agreements on the project the positive prospect of development of Baikonur city and the most starting complex opens," D. Rogozin said.
Also the head of state noted promotion of the Kazakhstan-Russian relations and in other sectors of economy.
