Kazakhstan and France discuss projects for 200 million dollars
Kazakhstan and France conduct active negotiations on six projects on the amount about 200 million dollars, including construction business, power, automotive industry questions. Minister of investments and development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kasymbek within the monthly session of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of France-Kazakhstan reported about it, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
"The amount of the French investments into economy of Kazakhstan made about 13 billion dollars over the last 10 years. More than 130 various entities successfully work in Kazakhstan with participation of the French equity, including such large companies as Alstom, Danon, Total. Our business rather actively cooperates with their business. 25 projects for the total amount more than 1 billion dollars are realized between two countries, generally it is projects in the oil and gas sphere, mechanical engineering, mining and metallurgical complex, also there are projects in agro-industrial complex. We expect that this list will extend and increase in the long term," Zh. Kasymbek said.
As the minister reported, six projects on the amount about 200 million dollars are in active study. According to him, these projects include construction business, power and automotive industry questions.
"We intend to continue to work further. We understand that large investors have a number of requirements in business for Kazakhstan, it is a security guarantee of investments, liberal visa, migration regime, lack of bureaucracy and receipt of allowing documents, clarity of tax service and customs systems. We created certain recommendations, headquarters where we listen the foreign party in the open format and make changes to the legislation for enhancement of business, the investment climate in Kazakhstan," Zh. Kasymbek said.
Ambassador of France in Kazakhstan Fransis Etienne added that France is the third foreign investor in Kazakhstan, the sixth client and the seventh supplier of Kazakhstan.
"Kazakhstan is the first economic partner of our country in Central Asia. The industry of power is the main receiver of the French investments," F.Etienne said.
