Ilya Ilyin knew about deprivation of the Olympic 'gold' in media

Ilya Ilyin has learned about the deprivation of the Olympic gold in media, the weightlifter has told about it at a press conference in Central Communications Service in Astana, correspondent reported.

"I am grateful to the people who support and trust me. News (about deprivation of the Olympic medals) I have learned in media," I. Ilyin told journalists.

Let's remind, the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan has received the formal notice from the International Olympic Committee on the applied sanctions against the Kazakhstan athlete Ilya Ilyin, the participant of the summer Olympic Games 2008 and 2012. In his organism traces of banned drugs have been revealed.

So, according to the decision of the disciplinary commission of the International Olympic Committee, by results of an additional research of "A" and "B" tests Kazakhstan weightlifter, the winner of the summer Olympic Games of 2008 in Beijing and 2012 in London in weight category to 94 kg Ilya Ilyin is disqualified from the last Games of 2008 and 2012, his results are cancelled and awards are withdrawn.

The decision on the term of disqualification will be made by the International federation of weightlifting.
