National paralympic training center to be opened in Astana

The national paralympic training center will be opened in Astana in 2014, Kazinform cites Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Sport and Physical Culture Tastanbek Yessentayev.


“Our country takes all necessary measures to support sports and paralympians in particular. The success reached by our athletes at international tournaments proves it. Thus, a national paralympic training center will be opened in Astana in 2014. The center will provide all necessary conditions for training of our paralympians,” T.Yessentayev said at a press conference dedicated to the upcoming Sport Day.
According to him, KZT 129 mln was allocated from the national budget for the construction of the center, ortcom.kz reports.
2012 Olympic champion in boxing, honorary master of sports of Kazakhstan Serik Sapiyev and silver medal winner of the Summer Olympic Games in Munich (1972) in swimming, honorary master of sports of the USSR Viktor Aboimov took part in the press conference as well.
