Universiade allows the world to learn about our athletes – Kazakhstan skater

Training of athletes for the forthcoming important sports event of 2017 – the 28th World winter Universiade will allow the Kazakhstan athletes to declare about themselves for the whole world, the member of Kazakhstan national student's team in speed skating Fedor Mezentsev said BNews.kz. 


Fedor Mezentsev is the world class master of sports, who has 16 years of persistent work in speed skating and considerable quantity of awards among which there are bronze and silver medals in the Championships of Asia and the World. The young man is the repeated owner of victories at republican competitions and the participant of the Winter Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi. Now the athlete prepares for the World Cup which will take place in the capital from December 2 to December 4.

"Now I am preparing for the forthcoming World Cup in Astana. After these competitions the final structure of our national team on the World Universiade 2017 will already be determined and general collection will be carried out. Then preparation for competitions will begin. Guys from all cities of Kazakhstan will train together on one base," the athlete says.

According to the participant of Winter sports competitions, the Universiade 2017 will become a new round in development and promoting of sport and will even more acquaint youth with a healthy lifestyle.


"Similar international competitions as the Universiade 2017, first of all, are necessary for promoting of different types of sport therefore it is unconditional plus. Besides, thanks to an event of such scale even more people recognize our athletes, our country. Also it is a big rehearsal and practice before the Olympic Games. For example, I am adjusted further at first on Asian Games in Ashgabat, then on the Olympic Games which will be played in 2018 in Korea," Mezentsev said.
