Turkmenistan suspends visa free regime with Kazakhstan
Turkmenistan has suspended the visa free regime for residents of bordering Kazakh regions, reports press service of the Mangistau customs control.
The reasons of tightening control were not immediately known, the AKIPress reported.
Turkmenistan requires visa for Kazakhstanis, except for the residents of Atyrau and Mangystau regions who have visa free access for up to 5 days.
Currently, there are two checkpoints at the Kazakh-Turkmen border -- Temir-Baba road checkpoint and Bolashak railroad checkpoint.
