Kazakhstan and Italy begin planned military cooperation for the first time
The meeting of deputy defense secretary of Kazakhstan major general Talgat Mukhtarov with extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Italy in Kazakhstan Stephano Ravanyan took place in Astana. The parties discussed transition to a planned basis of a military cooperation of Kazakhstan and Italy, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
The military cooperation of Kazakhstan and Italy passes to a planned basis since 2017. The first staff negotiations between representatives of the Defense Ministries of two countries took place on November of the current year, during which the Plan of cooperation between Defense agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the General Staff of the Republic of Italy for 2017 was signed for the first time. The plan provided cooperation in the field of combat training, military education and participation of the military personnel of two countries in joint exercises and competitions, Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan’s press service reports.
Within the meeting questions of a bilateral military cooperation were discussed. In particular, directions on strengthening of trust and openness measures in military area in the region and the world, training and cooperation between higher educational institutions, carrying out joint field exits, gathering of snipers, training of combat swimmers, increase in potential and opportunities of peacekeeping divisions are identified.
Major General Talgat Mukhtarov noted importance of visit by the Kazakhstan specialists of the Center of combat swimmers of Italy, also invited Italian teams to participation in "Altyn kun" competitions and Army international games in 2017.
