Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry confirms provision of place for Syria talks
The MFA of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov, speaking at the public debate in the United Nations Security Council on "Conflict prevention and peacemaking" said, that Kazakhstan confirms providing the place for the talks in Astana on the Syrian settlement, BNews.kz reports.
"Kazakhstan confirmed providing the place for the talks on peacemaking in Syria in Astana," the Minister of Foreign Affairs said today.
It is noted that the Kazakhstan has paid attention of debate`s participants on the importance of joint efforts in preventive diplomacy, promoting and improving of confidence-building measures, non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction,conflict resolution and opposition to the international terrorism.
The Deputy Kazakhstan MFA Yerzhan Ashikbayev noted that the Kazakhstan will do everything possible for Syrian talks, the press service of MFA of Kazakhstan reports.
"At this moment, everything is in a process, the painstaking work is carried out,” Ashikbaev said. Speaking about talks` date, he said that now "the work is around those dates and deadlines."
At the same time, Ashikbaev stressed that Kazakhstan "provides a place". The interested parties deal with the format question. The Syria talks are planned in Astana in January 23rd.
