Presidents of Kazakhstan and Iran discussed strengthening of trade and economic relations. Head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev told about it at a press conference on the occasion of Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani visit told about it, Bnews.kz correspondent reports.
"Iran is the first country among the muslim countries that recognized independence of Kazakhstan. We declared independence on December 16 and diplomatic relation between two countries were established on January 29. 25 years is the certificate of friendship relations between two countries. For this quarter of the century communications on all relations between the countries dynamically developed. Tehran constantly supports our political initiatives. Iran is our close neighbor and the reliable partner. We never broke our relationship even during sanctions against Iran. We carried out two rounds of negotiations concerning the nuclear program and we made the feasible contribution to the solution of the matter," N. Nazarbayev said.
According to the head of state, ways of development of the bilateral relations are discussed during the meeting with the leader of Iran.
"The sphere of Kazakhstan and Iranian dialogue extends and finds system nature. During negotiations the attention was focused on strengthening of trade and economic relations. Joint use and development of huge capacity of two countries and logistic industry: the Kazakhstan - Turkmenistan - Iran railroad became the effective transport and communication rule in the region, it also gives an exit opportunity to the countries of the Persian period and to build up relationship with them. Work on a joint construction of the logistic centers of grain and container terminals is begun," the President of Kazakhstan said.
Besides, as the head of state said, today the Iranian companies realize agricultural projects a total cost of 480 million US dollars. According to N. Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan is ready to export not only grain, but also other such products as sunflower oil, rice, colza.
