EU countries – main trade partners of Kazakhstan
As much as 39 percent of Kazakhstan’s foreign trade fell on EU countries in 2016, according to Kazakh Statistics committee data.
The trade between Kazakhstan and the EU hit $24.17 billion in the reporting period, including $18.48 billion of Kazakh export and $5.69 billion of Kazakh import.
The trade turnover with the partners within the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia) hit $13.58 billion (21.9 percent of all foreign trade of Kazakhstan). Kazakh export to these countries hit almost $3.92 billion, import – $9.67 billion in the reporting period, the Trend reported.
The largest trade partners of Kazakhstan among the foreign countries are Russia (almost $12.64 billion of trade in 2016), Italy ($8.31 billion), China ($7.88 billion), Netherlands ($3.54 billion), Switzerland ($2.8 billion), France ($2.46 billion), US ($1.89 billion), Germany ($1.71 billion), Uzbekistan ($1.51 billion), Turkey ($1.47 billion) Ukraine ($1.35 billion), Spain ($1.35 billion), UK ($1.26 billion), Japan ($1.11 billion).
Kazakhstan’s total trade turnover hit $61.95 billion in 2016 compared to $76.52 billion in 2015.
Kazakh export fell to almost $36.78 billion in 2016 compared to $45.96 billion in 2015. Kazakh import decreased from $30.57 billion in 2015 to $25.17 billion in 2016.
