On the flight “Astana-Dubai”, the border patrol unit withdrew the contraband cargo with live saker falcons.

The Kazakhstan’s border patrol unit of the border checkpoint “Astana” at the International capital airport prevented an attempt of smuggling of 23 endangered falcons to the UAE, the press service of the Ministry reports.

On the flight “Astana-Dubai”, the border patrol unit withdrew contraband cargo with live saker falcons at the time of its loading into the airplane.

During loading of the luggage, the border patrol unit was attracted by three large bags of black colour, that had wooden boxes with holes. After examining the cargo, live saker falcons were revealed. In all, 23 endangered falcons were withdrawn.

Representatives of the law enforcement and interacting bodies were informed. The contraband cargo was handed over to the nursery in Almaty.
