33 thousand mortgage loans issued in Kazakhstan year to date
As of July 1 2018, the portfolio of mortgage loans has reached about 1.4 trillion tenges.
In the first half of 2018, a mortgage loan has become the first for two thousand Kazakhstan citizens. It was reported to BNews.kz correspondent in First Credit Bureau LLP.
Experts from First Credit Bureau LLP note that the stable increase in the number of new borrowers in the segment of mortgage loans over the last years is connected with the improvement of the product together with a high demand for housing.
"From the beginning of 2018, 33 071 mortgage loans have been issued, including 1 907 for whom the loan is the first one. In First Credit Bureau LLP we monitor the behaviour and statistics of so-called credit virgins. As of today, despite the absence of a creadit record, but having the sufficient level to pay, Kazakhstan citizens can expect a positive decision of the bank. As of July 1 2018, the portfolio of mortgage loans has reached about 1.4 trillion tenges. The share of currency loans has decreased significantly from 30.5% in 2015 to 11.7% in 2018," said Assem Nurgaliyeva, a director for business development in the Bureau.
The number of loans being issued has increased by almost one and a half. Thus, in the second quarter of 2017, the total number of loans for 64.3 billion tenges were issued, and in 2018 - 92.5 billion tenges. NPL of mortgage loans (without written-off loans) is 15.6%.
About 40% of the portfolio is focused in Almaty, but from the end of the past year the issuance of mortgage loans has significantly increased in Astana. Over the last 12 months, 66.4 billion tenges were issued in Astana, in Almaty - 38.8 billion tenges.
The avarage amount of a mortgage loan in Kazakhtsan is 6.2 million tenges, including 13.1 million tenges in Almaty and 8.5 million tenges in Astana.
