500 thousand unique documents been digitalized in State Archive
This year the Central State Archive of Film and Photo Documents and Audio recording celebrates its 75th anniversary.
The Central State Archive of Film and Photo Documents finishes digitalizing the stored fund that includes 500 thousand documents. A work to digitalize unique documents has been completed by the 75th anniversary of the State Archive, BNews.kz correspondent reports referring to a press service of Kazakhstan's Culture and Sports Ministry.
The digitalization procedure began in 2012, after the modern equipment to digitalize old audio, film and photo documents was bought in France. Finally, voices of prominent Kazakh singers and poets, as well as well-known figures, unique photos made in the late 19th century and the archive of films and documents, that has started being collected since 1925, is available for a wider audience.
Now the Archive faces a task to digitalize the documents that are stored in regional storage facilities. These issues were under discussion at the Commemorative International Conference in which heads of the regional archives, representatives of the Culture and Sports Ministry, as well as guests from the near abroad, took part.
