In the near future, a Kazakh robot-police officer named "Bakyt" can stand up for the protection of the law and order of the region.

The robot-police officer, or a robocop, exists in reality that can be realized in Almaty region, BNews.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs of Almaty region.

According to the press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs, in Taldykorgan the guards of the order recently presented a multifunctional robot "Bakyt".

"The Bykyt robot is an experimental model used more often as a consultant on various issues, able to recognize faces, etc. It all depends on its software. As it turned out, similar robots are used in the Arab Emirates, South Korea and China. There is its colleague Kuanysh in Kazakhstan, that is on duty in the Kazpost of Astana," the report said.

Employees of the company who introduced Bakyt explained that the robot's sensors scan and remember every person in its field of vision, and also that the model can be used depending on the purpose, both by state bodies as a robot consultant and by security agencies, taking into account that embroidered in it the module of recognition of faces of biometrics.

Experts believe that the program can be integrated with databases of various data. This will allow the population to provide better services. Now, the region's police have begun to discuss Bakyt's usefulness in law enforcement.

"The abilities of this model will be carefully studied with consideration of all "For" and "Against." Once they are useful for the police service, then they will be used, for instance, in PSCs, auto centers or posts "Rubezh", etc. The question is remains open," head of the department of the technical service of the Department of Internal Affairs, Colonel of Police Zagira Dauletova said.
