Almaty Mayor’s office negotiates for Denis Ten memorial installation
Mayor’s Office of Almaty has undertaken to hold the annual International Tournament in figure skating of the memory of Denis.
Almaty Mayor Bauyrzhan Baibek spoke about the death of Kazakhstan figure skater Denis Tena during the public council devoted to security issues, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
Baurzhan Baibek during his speech noted he had a meeting with Denis Ten’s family twice. The local authorities intend to perpetuate the name of the Kazakh figure skater.
The tragic death of Denis Ten has shocked the whole country, I met his family twice, Yesterday I met his mother, we will develop figure skating. Figure skating is a very promising direction. A lot of Almaty residents and Kazakhstanis want to do this. We are negotiating for the installation of the monument. Besides we will associate his mother in publishing a book. Denis is worthy to commemorate his memory. As a whole, our common task is to make sure that the tragedy does not happen again, " Baibek stated.
According to Oksana Ten, registration of a special foundation for a realization of plans and projects of Denis ten is underway. Mayor’s Office of Almaty has undertaken to hold the annual International Tournament in figure skating of the memory of Denis and the implementation of the project to install a monument to Denis at the scene of the tragedy.
As reported earlier, Denis Ten died on July 19 after an attack of carvers who stabbed him. Currently, three detained suspects arrested for two months.
