Astana begins International Conference on modern electorial techniques
It is taking place as part of the events timed to the 25th anniversary of the Central Electoral Commission of Kazakhstan.
Within the International Conference 'The Role of Modern Techniques in Election: Improving Standards, Public Trust', Kazakh Secretary of State Gulshara Abdykalikova has addressed a welcome speech to the event's participants on behalf of the head of state, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
In his speech, Nursultan Nazarbayev welcomed the conference's attendees devoted to modern trends in developing election processes.
The head of state noted that since independence Kazakhstan has been conducting consistent reforms, by improving the state and political system.
"Kazakhstan shows a solid commitment to high international standards in electoral right and conducting elections, being an active supporter of wide-ranging global cooperation in this sphere," said the President.
The President underlined that nowadays the country paid special attention to new techniques enabling to increase transparency and accountability of government bodies, growth in their professional competences and public trust in them in the election process.
"I am convinced that a reliable and effective institute of elections is a key factor in global competitiveness and sustainable development of the country. Congratulate everyone on the date - the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan's electoral system. Wish health, successful and productive work," conveyed Nazarbayev.
