Astana, Singapore expand trade and economic cooperation
Mayor of Astana Bakhyt Sultanov invited Singapore's financial and investment institutions to take part in the work of the Astana International Financial Centre.
On Thursday Astana's Mayor Bakhyt Sultanov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore to Kazakhstan Zulkifli bin Baharudin, BNews.kz reports referring to an official website of the capital city's Mayor's Office.
During the meeting, the sides underlined that owing to the steadfast support of the two states, all conditions to develop trade and economic and cultural and humanitarian relations had been created.
According to Bakhyt Sultanov, the Mayor's Office of Astana pays great attention to expand business cooperation with Singapore. The two states have already established an exchange of experiences in the field of management.
"Now we are working on the 'Kazakhstan-2050' Strategy by studying the experience of development of other large cities. I am sure that Singapore's experience will be of great benefit and edifying. If you have ideas and proposals in cooperation with experts in this sector, we are ready to meet them and to discuss opportunities for cooperation," said Bakhyt Sultanov.
Astana's Mayor reportedly expressed the hope that Singapore's financial and investment institutes will take part in the activity of the 'Astana' International Financial Centre.
On September 9-13, 2019, Astana will host the 8th Summit of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) on urban tourism and the 2nd Forum of Mayors of the states along the Silk Road. In this connection, Bakhyt Sultanov invited Singapore to take part in these high-level events.
