Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan mull naphthalan ointment supplies
An export mission consisting of more than 20 Azerbaijani entrepreneurs engaged in producing of fruit juices, mineral waters, wine and cognac, fresh fruits and vegetables, therapeutic herbal teas are presenting their products in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the Azernews reported.
The Azerbaijani businessmen met with representatives of Kazakh companies and discussed expansion of ties and the possibility of supplies of Azerbaijani products to Kazakhstan.
The main goal of the trade mission scheduled for April 23-26 is to strengthen and intensify the bilateral trade and economic cooperation of business circles, as well as review the commercial potential of Azerbaijan.
Besides, Azerbaijani companies Ayan and Ag Naftalan are negotiating the supply of lemonade, mineral waters and naphthalan ointment to Kazakhstan, the Azerbaijani Economy ministry reported.
Both Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan attach great importance to the development of bilateral trade and economic ties. There is a successfully operating Intergovernmental Commission, and business forums are held regularly.
Today, 37 Kazakh companies involved in different sectors of economy are successfully doing their business in Azerbaijan. In a western region of Kazakhstan alone, a total of 46 companies with Azerbaijani capital are registered.
The two countries have already signed over 100 agreements, which constitute legal basis for negotiations between the countries. More than 20 of those are in the field of economy.
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan amounted to almost $124.4 million in 2016, including more than $26 million that accounted for the export to Kazakhstan, according to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
Azerbaijan started organizing export missions to various countries since November 2016 in order to increase the export volume and promote the ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ brand. As of today, Azerbaijani entrepreneurs have already visited Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, China, Pakistan and other countries.
