Center for Kazakh Literature and Culture to be opened in Madrid

The Center will allow library readers to get acquainted with the tradition and culture, the art of the Kazakh people.

 

The opening of the Center for Kazakh Literature and Culture in the AECID Library of the Kingdom of Spain in the city of Madrid will take place today on November 29, BNews.kz reports with a reference to a press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The opening of the Center for Kazakh Literature and Culture will allow library readers to become better acquainted with the tradition and culture and art of the Kazakh people. Here you can learn about the achievements of Independent Kazakhstan, its successes in the economy, politics, and the social sphere through literature.

"The Center will present the books of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev, the books devoted to his activities and roles in the international political arena, as well as works by famous Kazakhstani authors in Kazakh, Russian and English," they said in the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Spain Konstantin Zhigalov, diplomats of the Embassy, Director of the AECID Library Ms. Maria Aracel iGarcia Martín, Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Director of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Umutkan Munalbayeva and others will attend the opening ceremony.

Since 2016, the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has been implementing an international project to open Kazakh Literature and Culture Centers in national and other large libraries of foreign countries.

Today, Kazakh Literature and Culture Centres function in the 27 libraries of the world in such countries as Korea, the Kyrgyz Republic, Finland, Hungary, Russia, Armenia, Malaysia, Turkey, the People's Republic of China, Georgia, France, Japan, Sweden, Macedonia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic , Italy (Venice), USA (Library of Congress and the New York Public Library), Romania, Iran, Brazil, Udmurtia, Germany and others.

The Center for Kazakh Literature and Culture opens with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Spain.
