According to Prosecutor-General of China Cao Jianming, over the last five years, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate contributed to the construction of “One belt, one road” and a new structure of comprehensive openness by the active development of the activity of the International Association of Procurators.

The creation of a mechanism of direct cooperation and regular meetings of the prosecutor’s offices in the border areas of Kazakhstan and China was one of the results of the work over the last five years on facilitation to the construction of “One belt, one road”. It was said by Prosecutor-General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China Cao Jianming, IIA Kazinform reports.

“We have initiated the creation of a mechanism of meetings of General Prosecutors of BRICS, created mechanisms of direct cooperation and regular meetings of the Prosecutor Offices of the border areas of China with Vietnam, as well as China with Kazakhstan, thus facilitating to the creation of a community of a single destiny of humanity and expanding the friend circle of the Chinese Prosecutor’s Office,” Jianming said when delivering a report on the work of the SPP at the second plenary session within the historical 1st session of the National People’s Congress of the 13th convocation.

According to him, over the last five years, the SPP contributed to the construction of “One belt, one road” and a new structure of comprehensive openness by the active development of the work of the International Association of Procurators, holding of sessions of the General Prosecutors of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), General Prosecutors of China and the ASEAN states, the International Association of Anti-Corruption Structures and other multilateral mechanisms.

The Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China has signed with 95 foreign, national and regional law enforcement bodies 145 bilateral agreements on cooperation in the sphere of combating terrorism, search for criminals and return of stolen money, as well as in combating crimes in telecommunication and cyberspace, after the refusal in 2013 in providing help to foreign partners in 675 criminal cases, the General Prosecutor of China reports.

Cao Jianming underlined that in 2017 the 22nd annual conference of the International Association of Procurators was successfully held with the participation of more than 500 representatives of 98 countries of the world.

It is noted that in the work of the 22nd annual conference and general meeting of the International Association of Procurators, Deputy Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Andrey Lukin took part. In November, 2017, the General Prosecutor’s Offices o Kazakhstan and China signed two agreements on legal support, including a memorandum on legal support and facilitation in cross-border cooperation and an agreement on interdepartmental control over execution of documents.
