Council of CIS heads of government next meeting to be in Ashgabat

Presumably, the Prime Ministers of the Commonwealth countries will meet again in May 2019.

 

At the suggestion of Turkmenistan, it was decided to hold a regular meeting of the Council of CIS heads of government at the end of May 2019 in Ashgabat. The Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, Sergey Lebedev, said during the meeting in Astana, BNews.kz correspondent reports.

"The narrow meeting reviewed and approved the agenda of today's meeting. In addition, at the proposal of Turkmenistan, it was decided to hold a regular meeting of the Council of CIS heads of government at the end of May 2019 in Ashgabat. Presumably on May 31. In a narrow format, the heads of delegations exchanged views on the current economic interaction of the CIS. At the same time, specific comments and suggestions were made aimed at further improving our joint activities," said Sergey Lebedev.
 
He also said that all initiatives and proposals that were made in the speeches of the heads of delegations would be carefully analyzed by the Executive Committee, with a view to preparing relevant documents on their practical implementation at the level of statutory and sectoral bodies of the Commonwealth.

Note that Astana holds a meeting of the Council of heads of government of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The heads of government will also discuss the Concept of Cooperation of the CIS member states to develop high-tech energy equipment production and a plan of main measures for its implementation.

Following the meeting of the Council of CIS heads of government, it is planned to sign documents.

The draft agenda of the expanded meeting includes 13 issues related to cooperation in various fields, such as nuclear energy, space, innovation, ecology, communications and tax administration, as well as issues of the financial sector.

At the meeting, it is planned to sign the Protocol on the exchange of information in electronic form between the CIS member states for tax administration.

The document was prepared in order to more effectively comply with tax laws, timely and complete tax revenues to the budget and further development of trade and economic cooperation between the countries of the Commonwealth.
