Drivers of scooters are equated to pedestrians in Kazakhstan

The Committee of administrative police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan said that scooters in Kazakhstan aren't the vehicle, and their owners are equated to pedestrians, BNews.kz correspondent reported.

If earlier the status of owners of scooters hasn't been designated, then now it became clear what rules they have to follow. The press secretary the CAP of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Irina Lukyanina on the page on Facebook has reported that according to the current legislation the scooter including the electroscooter (on electrodraft with the drive from the electric motor), is not the vehicle. Producers specify in the maintenance instruction that they aren't intended for use on public roads.

"The persons using scooters and other similar means (on set of operational and technical characteristics segways, GyroScooters, monowheels, electric scooters can be carried to them, in particular) are pedestrians," Irina Lukyanina noted.

As the CAP of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has explained, owners of these vehicles are obliged to know and observe the requirements belonging to this category of participants of traffic. They have to move on sidewalks or walking paths, and at their absence — on roadsides.

We will note, recently people even more often began to give preference in Kazakhstan to scooters. By the way, such type of transport can gather speed to 40-45 kilometers per hour. The scooter enjoys special popularity at inhabitants of Europe where this transport is equated to bicycles. Germany, France and Great Britain ride scooters the whole families, and here in America he is more preferred by children, than adults.
