Kazakhstan businessmen in cooperation with representatives of the French business community worked out the possibility of alternative fuel production, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
"Every year the demand for bioethanol is growing, so more and more foreign businesses are interested in the production of bioethanol in Otrar district. The reason is that the basic raw material for its production is maize; the cultivation of it is a priority of our region," said Zhasulan Kismuratov, the chief specialist of the department of internal policy of Otrar district .
In this week Otrar district mayor Yerlan Aitakhanov met with potential investors - an entrepreneur, deputy of the regional maslikhat Serikzhan Seitzhanov and French economics professor Jean-Paul Delholm. The sides discussed issues related to the establishment of a production base, the investment component of the project and methods of sales.
"Bioethanol, which has global significance in solving pollution problems, could be a new brand in our region," said Zh.Kismuratov.
