Kazakhstan Union of oilfield service companies to increase the share of Kazakh content in major projects
The Kazakhstan Union of oilfield service companies plans to increase the share of local content in major expansion projects, said general director of the Kazakhstan Union of oilfield services companies Daurzhan Augambai during a press conference in CCS, BNews.kz reports.
"The main aim of the Union is to increase the proportion of local content in major expansion projects that are implemented in the oil and gas industry of our country by involving the maximum number of local companies in our industry," said D.Augambai.
According to him, the industry employs about 150,000 people for today, and taking into account the factor of nepotism about half a mn people are involved in this industry.
"Oilfield services industry is very wide: from drilling, engineering, industrial engineering, chemical supply, drilling fluids, equipment supply, component parts, electrical installation services, and logistics. Therefore, the social factor, which we take into account while interacting with this sector, is important. And today we are talking about the most competitiveness of our domestic companies, which are now experiencing in the run-up of Kazakhstan’s accession to the WTO," he said.
