FC Astana’s trainer talked on preparations for UEFA Champions League
A match of the first qualifying round of the Champions League Astana – Sutjeska is held on July 11 at the Astana Arena stadium.
On July 11, the Astana football team start performing in the qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. The champion of Kazakhstan will face the team from Montenegro FK Sutjeska, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
According to the head coach of FC Astana, Roman Grigorchuk, his team train very serious and understand that they should try their best to win.
“Each match should be played to show one’s football. We wish to reach the level when we could control the game, to play without depending on the opponent. It is clear that four qualifying rounds are ahead. The road of the champions in the League has changed, it will be much difficult. But, despite everything we wish only to win and advance as far as possible,” said the Ukrainian footballer at the press conference.
In addition, Roman Grigorchuk named the strong sides of the opponent.
“Montenegrins have a serious team. There are footballers who are well equipped in terms of football. They are champions of their country, and that is, they have the psychology of winners. As for the style, then I would say that it is simple and secure. These are the things that can lead to the result. We have analyzed the opponent. Trust me, no one among us has a reason to underestimate the opponent,” he said.
In addition, the trainer of FC Astana said that in a match against Sutjeska, footballer of the national team of Azerbaijan Richard Almeida would hardly help the team who has recently signed a contract with FC Astana. And, Serb defender Antonio Rukavina is ready to play.
In turn, head trained of Sutjeska Nikola Rakojevic told that his team had not a great deal of chances in a match against FC Astana.
“FC Astana is a favorite of the match, your team have a big experience in the UEFA Europe League. Our team has lost five footballers. It is a serious loss. FC Astana has the budget which is by 30 times more compared to ours. And, our budget hardly exceeds a million euros. Taking these factors into account, then FC Astana has many chances. However, FC Astana have the weak points, and we will try to benefit from them,” said the trainer of the team from Montenegro.
