Kazakh President agrees with Finland's President to launch new projects

The President of Kazakhstan notes that Finland is the key trade and economic and investment parter for Kazakhstan.

Following the official meeting ceremony, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Finland Sauli Niinistö have discussed the bilateral relations in smaller and larger memberships, BNews.kz reports referring to the Akorda.

The Kazakh President thanked the President of Finland for the traditional warm welcome and underlined that the approaches and principles of the two states in dealing with regional and international issues were similar.

"Finland and Kazakhstan are the states enjoying reciprocal reliance. One example of this is the important meeting of U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in your country. Kazakhstan also organizes the same events, including the settlement of the Syrian conflict. Different matters are discussed in our states. And that's because we represent the states have only healthy relations. Our countries are free of conflicts with our neighbouring countries," said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The President of Kazakhstan outlined that Suomi was the key trade and economic and investment partner of Kazakhstan on northern Europe, and noted that our country accounts for 90% of Finland's trade turnover with Central Asia.

"Our states have much scope to further strengthen the interaction, so it is necessary to accelerate the efforts of working groups in energy, transport, agriculture and education, established within the session of the intergovernmental commission, and to get down to discussing concrete projects," said the head of state.

Nursultan Nazarbayev specially dwelled on the results of the meeting with representatives of Finland's business circles and noted the importance of the documents reached during the business forum.

"We have agreed to launch new projects enabling to strengthen our cooperation. I propose to give instructions to our governments to control their implementations," said the Kazakh President.

In turn, the President of Finland welcomed the head of state, noting that the last bilateral meeting took place during the EXPO-2017 international exhibition successfully held in Astana.
