Bus travels from Tashkent to Almaty and Astana are planned to open in the near future.

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan intend to increase additional flights between Astana, Almaty and Tashkent, as well as bus and train travels between the states. It was said by Minister for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kassymbek, BNews.kz correspondent reports.

“In the past year, we agreed with the Uzbek side on the four flights a week between Astana and Tashkent, and seven flights between Almaty and Tashkent. Now, the agreement includes 10 flights between Almaty and Tashkent, and seven flights between Astana and Tashkent a week,” Kassymbek said within the 17th session of a joint Intergovernmental Commission on bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on Wednesday.

According to the Minister, in the near future the trains on the route Almaty-Tashkent will be run three times a week.

“We also increased the travels of trains. Trains on the route Almaty-Tashkent run two times a week. From this moment, trains will run three times a week. As for buses, we do not have regular bus travels. In the autumn last year, we launched a big deal of bus travels a week on the route Tashkent-Shymkent. That is why, we agree on the routes from Tashkent to Almaty and Astana. At the same time, the Uzbek side propose to consider Samarkand and other cities. We see the perspective and people want to travel,” Zhenis Kassymbek said.
