Earlier the ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan in Georgia Ermukhamet Ertysbayev has reported that at the beginning of September Georgia will begin to pay a public debt to Kazakhstan.
"At the beginning of September Georgia will begin to pay a public debt to Kazakhstan. We have borrowed to Georgians about 27,5 million dollars, about 20 years ago, in the mid-nineties in due time. Then at us at the state treasury, in essence, was empty (...) The situation was rather heavy. But Georgia very needed these means. Then Eduard Shevarnadze hardly held the power. Our President treated Eduard Amvrosiyevich very kindly, and we him have borrowed this money," Ermukhamet Ertysbayev told.
The diplomat has added that when has arrived in the spring of 2013, at once I have raised a question that friendship by friendship, and money separately, it is necessary to resolve this problem somehow. There were negotiations. Have come that they will pay this money according to the scheme of the Paris Club with very small percent.
"I think, no more than 30 million dollars will be paid because we at negotiations minimized all percentage component when you give such money for big term, any person has a question and why not 40-45 million dollars. We have met halfway (…) It is the small country, they have neither oil, nor gas," the ambassador told then.
In turn Georgia has allowed to construct Borjomi-Riksos hotel. Besides, for 49 years have rented the Batumi seaport, have gone for establishment of a certain railway tariff with Kazakhstan.
