Gennady Golovkin told how he takes doping tests

Over the last two weeks, he took four doping tests.

Kazakhstani boxer Gennady Golovkin commenting the case with a positive doping test of his rival Saul Alvarez said that he had systematically passed analyzes on prohibited substances in the body, Sports.kz reports.

Golovkin said that he was tested four times over the last two weeks and had been passing doping tests over 20 years from his amateur career, and when he won the belt eight years ago, the testing had started to be more thorough.

At the same time, the Nevada Athletic Commission considered the complaint of Gennady Golovkin’s coach Abel Sanchez on the illegal taping of hands of Saul Alvarez before the bout with GGG in September 16. At that bout, “Canelo” laid tapes upon layers of gauze.

Golovkin’s promoted Tom Loeffler and representative of Alvarez, president of Golden Boy Promotions Eric Gomez held a meeting with Executive Director of the Commission Bob Bennett and its representative Anthony Marnell. Marnell and Bennett noted that the way of taping of the “Canelo” side corresponded to the rules of the Commission and was not illegal.

We note that two doping tests passed by Alvarez on February 17 and 20 were revealed as positive. If WADA do not react to this case, and the Mexican boxer proves his innocence, the fight with Golovkin will take place as scheduled on May 5 in Las Vegas.
