Golovkin moved one line up in Forbes rating
Boxer has moved from the third to the second place .
Forbes magazine published a new version of the highest-paid boxers, Sport.kz reports.
Kazakhstani professional boxer who currently holds the unified WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and IBO middlewight titles Gennady Golovkin moved one line up and ranked the second according to the Forbes.
After Golovkin knocked out Martirosyan in the second round this month, he received a fee of 1 million dollars. He also placed himself in a more advantageous position in negotiations with Canelo Alvarez for a possible fight in September. Golovkin will not earn as much money as Canelo, if they meet again, because he again will not be party to A. But he must have more leverage in the negotiations leading to this fight," the publication writes.
Forbes notes that the monthly rating is based on the latest fees, as well as potential future fights and opponents. The TOP-15 looks like this:
- Anthony Joshua (2)
- Gennady Golovkin (3)
