Head of state instructs PM to ensure financial support for startupers
The President urged businessmen to support startuppers working in the Astana Hub technopark.
Head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev has opened the Astana Hub technopark of IT startups. In his speech, he gave instructions to Kazakh Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev to ensure funding of IT specialists from businesses, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the Astana Hub technopark of IT startups will be the core of Kazakhstan's ecosystem. The technopark's participants can enjoy the simplified visa and labour regime, as well as they will be provided with tax and other preferences. A Mentoring Institute where experts support startup teams has been established.
"Now we need to create a new generation of IT talents. The main task is to support and help those bright, talented and gifted. (...) I am pleased to see the achievements of our youth, and I think that it is a start. I was really glad to see their eyes lit up when they were presenting labs. I think we will bring up talented representatives of our citizens, with their names along with other well-known names. Their achievements are the example of persistence, hard-working, and desire to realise their ideas," said the head of state.
According to him, financial support is key to startup ideas. So a Club of business angels, an Association of venture capitalists, a Fund of co-investing are underway.
"In my opinion, the government, as well as these funds, will actively support talented guys. Our businesses, large state companies and social facilities should support, conclude agreements with these guys so to commercialize their work. The Prime Minister ensure this," said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
He called upon businessmen to provide assistance in the implementation of these tasks.
"I invite all businessmen to take part to implement these initiatives. I think that we should bring them together, invite and give instructions so they actively work in this direction," said the head of state.
