How FC Astana prepares for a match against the best Croatian club
A match of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League between FC Astana and GNK Dinamo Zagreb is held on August 7 at the Astana Arena stadium 08:00pm (ALMT).
In the third qualifying round of the Champions League FC Astana faces with Croatian GNK Dinamo Zagreb, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
"In general, only good words can be conveyed about Dinamo. It is a brand, the team with a big name, experience. The team has good players, it has its own style. Dinamo is a good team. We wish to win in the match. And, there is no sense to talk whether we wish to score or not to miss a goal. We will try our best to win this team," said Roman Grigorchuk, a head trainer of FC Astana.
It is true that fear of the head trainer of Kazakhstan's champion team is not groundless. GNK Dinamo Zagreb is the best team of Croatia. The country that played in the final of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. And, half of the players of the Croatian team, including main star of the World Cup Luka Modric, who plays for Real Madrid, played for GNK Dinamo Zagreb.
"Good news is that Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic will not play in the match. We should be glad. We understand that Croatia has strong teams, and Dinamo is the top one, it is always number one, with a huge experience. We understand the difficulty and the level of the team and evaluate. But, we also understand that we have chances, and we will fight," said the head trainer of FC Astana.
Journalists also asked Roman Grigorchuk whether the upcoming match would be of principal importance for Croatian footballer of FC Astana Marin Tomasov.
"Such features happen often. But, in general, it is important for all us. And, the personal features of Tomasov are less important. Talking about whether I have talked about Dinamo with Tomasov, I never use such an approach. Sometimes, we should know some near football matters, and everything ragarding football, we solve jointly with the trainer staff," said the Ukrainian footballer.
We add that FC Astana have played without losses in 12 matches in a row. According to goalkeeper of Kazakhstan's team Nenad Eric, the team intends to go on without losses in the upcomming match.
"Dinamo has not only good defenders, I would not say their surnames, but the team has highly qualified footballers. We will examine and train to win them," said Nenad Eric.
We note that a match of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League between FC Astana and GNK Dinamo Zagreb from Croatia is held at the Astana Arena stadium 08:00pm (ALMT). In case the club from Kazakhstan wins, it will play in the play-off round of the UEFA Champions League, where it could probably play against Swiss club BSC Young Boys.
