India shows interest in implementing projects of ‘Digital Kazakhstan’ program
Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
A meeting of Nursultan Nazarbayev and Narendra Modi was held as part of the session of the heads of state – member states of the SCO. The head of state pointed out a gradual nature of the development of relations between the two states, a website of the Akorda reports.
The President of Kazakhstan congratulated the Prime Minister of India on becoming a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Nursultan Nazarbayev underlined that Kazakhstan has been fully supporting India in this matter.
In turn, Narendra Modi underlined that Kazakhstan is one of the major trading partners of India in Central Asia, and expressed interest of India to implement the projects within the Digital Kazakhstan program.
“I express gratitude for your personal support and for arriving in Astana in the specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 by which you facilitated to the increase of the international attention to the event,” said the President of Kazakhstan.
The head of state noted that as a result of the implementation of the reached agreements, only the last year trade turnover between India and Kazakhstan increased by 53% and reached 1 billion dollars.
“Nowadays, cooperation of the two states in space, pharmacy, the military and technical sector, as well as in other areas is being developed. We should continue working in this direction,” said the President of Kazakhstan.
In turn, the Prime Minister of India thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for supporting the election of the representative of India in the UN International Court and noted that multilateral cooperation between the two states is being successfully developed and intensified.
“I congratulate you on the 20th anniversary since the creation of the capital of Kazakhstan – Astana, as well as to express our kind wishes on the occasion of opening of the Astana International Finance Centre,” said the Prime Minister of India.
At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister of India also addressed to Kazakhstan to enter the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
