Indian diplomat shows interest in Kazakhstan's experience in combatting corruption

Indian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Prabhat Kumar noted the progress in combatting corruption and emphasized the development of bilateral relations. 

 

Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption Alik Shpekbayev held a meeting with Indian Ambassador Prabhat Kumar, Bnews.kz reports referring to a press service of the Agency.

The Indian Ambassador noted the progress in combatting corruption and emphasized the importance to develop bilateral relations. 

In turn, the Agency Chairman specially underlined that the cooperation with India was an important part of Kazakhstan's foreign policy. 

"Sharing the best practices in public administration and the fight against corruption are key in increasing the countries' competitiveness," said Alik Shpekbayev in his welcome speech. 

He urged Indian colleagues to actively cooperate with the Agency to exchange novelties and positive practices in this field.  

During the meeting, the Ambassador showed special interest to the Agency's project to protect businesses and investments 'Protecting Business and Investments' and talked about investment projects of India's businessmen being implemented in Kazakhstan.

The Agency's head underlined that all conditions to do business easily were created in Kazakhstan. The Council of Foreign Investors functions effectively, the Astana International Financial Centre is established, in which the Independent Financial Court works based on the principles of English law.  

"Our doors are open for investors. All available resources are used, we will provide comprehensive support to protect business communities and investors from bureaucracy and unlawful interference in their activities," said Shpekbayev. 

Alik Shpekbayev suggested in case violations of the law, as well as the occurrence of problems and difficulties among investors from India, to send the relevant information to the Agency to take lawful actions.  

Following the meeting, Prabhat Kumar thanked the head of state for the welcome and expressed readiness to full cooperation.
