Infotour for Kazakhstan’s tour operators organized in Ulytau
Within the framework of the Rukhani zhangyru state program Ulytau district hosts the international Zhez kiik music festival .
The forum, which took place on the territory of Ethnic aul, built near Ulytau, involved representatives of the tourism business, associations, government agencies, the KazakhTourizm National Company, and public organizations BNews.kz reports.
The event united around 60 tourist operators and associations of Tourism from Astana and Almaty cities, Akmola, Zhambyl and Karaganda regions, cooperating with foreign partners of Russia, China, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
The participants will have a chance to familiarize with all historical and cultural sites for their own eyes, and design routes in order to promote their tour packages for the clients. Nowadays just 12 thousand people visit Ulytau district. We will make every effort to increase this figure up to 100 thousand annually, deputy governor of the Karaganda region stated.
The forum presents all the historical monuments and sacred places of not only the Ulytau region but the entire region. The participants discussed and made their proposals on the development of tourism in the region. The logistics and accessibility was the hot topic for the consideration. For this purpose, more than 2 billion tenge was allocated to the historical monuments and mausoleums for repair and road construction only. 60 km of roads will be repaired and built.
The program of the forum includes visiting of historical, cultural, sacred, as well as tourist facilities. Many of these places are little known not only to foreign tourists but also to the people of Kazakhstan.
It should be noted Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic in Kazakhstan Philippe Martinet attended the forum.
"The development of the tourist industry is vital for the region’s economy and of course for the culture. French people are very interested in this Ulytau district which is few known in the world. In addition, Kazakhstani nature and cultural life are of great interest to France. We appreciate comfort but also pristine natural beauty and the environment," Philippe Martinet announced.
Ulytau since ancient times is considered a sacred treasure of the great Kazakh steppe. In the district, there are more than 600 monuments of the different time, 282 of which are included in the historical and cultural map of the Ulytau reserve fund-museum
The most recognizable are Mausoleum of Zhoshi Khan where the eldest son of the famous Genghis Khan is buried, Khan Ordasi historical place, where the great events of history related to the formation of the Kazakh Khanate took place, Altyn Shoky stone slab, whose history is associated with the Great Tamerlane, Terekty-Aulie, Tamdy petroglyphs, describing interesting and revered masterpieces of ancient rock art and other historical, cultural and sacred places.
