Japan to cooperate with Kazakhstan in the aerospace

On January 31, 2018, the ambassador of Kazakhstan to Japan, Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev met with the representative of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Naoki Okumura.

Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev told about the implementation of the projects in the space sphere in Kazakhstan, in particular, about the construction of an assembly and testing complex of space devices, where a technological and production base for projecting, producing parts, for assembling and testing satellites will be created.

Naoki Okumura noted that the cooperation between the two countries has established and the interaction between the National space agencies of Kazakhstan and JAXA enters a new qualitative level.

The interlocutors underlined the importance in further implementation of the Agreement on cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes, signed between the National space agency of Kazakhstan and JAXA on January, 2010.

The ambassador noted that the agreement created a legal base for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation that is important for Kazakhstan taking into account leading positions of Japan in digital technologies. In this context, the JAXA representatives were familiarized with the main provisions of the Address of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev “New possibilities under the fourth industrial revolutions” and in particular with the introduction of innovative technologies in Kazakhstan.

In addition, the ambassador invited Naoki Okumuru to the international exhibition “KADEX-2018”, which will be held on May 23-26 this year in Astana.

The representative of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) noted with gratitude that Kazakhstan is a departure point and safe landing of Japanese cosmonauts working in the International space station. According to him the Japanese people waits for the return of a cosmonaut Norishige Kanai to the Kazakh land on June this year.

Okumura expressed the hope that the Kazakhstani delegation will participate in the 2nd International Space Exploration Forum at a high level, which will be held on March 2018 in Tokyo.

At the end of the conversation, he gave a high appraisal to the achievements of Kazakhstan and expressed interest in closer cooperation in the priority directions of aerospace industry.
