Kazakh arm wrestlers were found among strongest athletes at World Championships in Turkey
About 1300 athletes from 40 states took part in the competitions.
The Kazakh national team took the first place among youth, and the second place among adults, an official website of the Mayor's Office of Astana reports.
"Yerkin Alimzhanov won two gold medals at the world arm wrestling championships that took place in Turkey. The athlete from the capital city's sports club 'Zhiger' competed in the weight category up to 75 kg among veterans and took the first places in left and right-handed divisions. At the World Armwrestling Championships, Kazakhstan was also represented by athletes from the advanced sports training school 'Tolagay'. They brought four medals, including 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals for Kazakhstan," reads the report.
Merited Master of Sports of Kazakhstan George Dzeranov took the 1st place on the left-handed division in the weight class up to 100kg, sport master of international class of Kazakhstan Alimzhan Muratov - 1st place on the left-handed division and 2rd place on the right-handed division in the weight class up to 80kg, sport master of Kazakhstan Arman Rakhmankulov gained a bronze medal on a right-handed division in the weight class up to 85kg.
Of note, the World Armwrestling Championships took place in the period between October 12 to 21. Around 1300 athletes from more than 40 states took part in the competitions.
