Kazakh citizens tend to face respiratory diseases most

The number of respiratory diseases reaches 43%. 

 

Following the 2nd quarter of 2018, the volume of services in healthcare has reached KZT 294.9 billion, a 2.2% increase compared to last year, BNews.kz reports referring to energyprom.kz.  

The two capital cities with the most number of medical facilities have 33% of services in the sector. In Almaty, the volume of services has amounted to KZT 50.4 billion (+0.4% over year), in Astana - KZT 47.1 billion (+6.2% over year). 

Healthcare services are mostly financed by the state. Thus, for the 2nd quarter of 2018, 77.1% of services have been provided by the state, with a 0.8% decrease compared to the given period of last year. 

Kazakh citizens have spent KZT 45.9 billion on health services for the 2nd quarter of 2018, a 10.7% increase compared to the same period of last year. 

In Kazakhstan, respiratory diseases are the most common diseases. The statistics of the Ministry of Healthcare of Kazakhstan indicate that respiratory diseases accounted for 42.9% in 2017; diseases of the digestive system - 7.8%; diseases of the genitourinary system - 7.3% of the total number of diseases. 

In 2017, the number of Kazakh citizens with respiratory diseases saw the inconsiderable increase - 0.5%. For comparison, the annual increase of respiratory diseases was 12.2% in the same period of 2016. 

In the current year, according to the Ministry of Healthcare of Kazakhstan, the epidemiological situation in respect of SARS and influenza is stable within the country. Cases of influenza have not been registered, the circulation of non-influenza respiratory viruses is observed (parainfluenza, rhinovirus, adenovirus and so on). Since the beginning of the epidemiological season, over 58 thousand cases of SARS have been recorded, a 28% decline compared to the same period of last year.  

The most cases of SARS are among children under 14 (66%). 

As of October 2018, the cost of services of doctors (primary reception) has increased in price by 8.8% over year. 

Almaty (KZT 4239 per reception, +2.5% over year), Atyrau (KZT 3951 per perception, +10.4% over year), and Uralsk (KZT 3259, +20.5% over year) are the cities with expensive medical services. 

The biggest growth has been observed in the city of Semey: +32% within the year, up to KZT 1984 per perception. 

In general, prices for primary perception to doctors increase throughout the country, except for Shymkent where the prices have remained.
