Kazakh figure skating duo to debut at Tallin Trophy-2018
This is the first figure skating duo in the history of the country.
Estonia to host the Tallin Trophy-2018 international skating tournament from November 26 to December 2, 2018, Olympic.kz informs.
Kazakhstan will be represented by several athletes, among them, Aiza Imambek, Artur Panikhin and Nikita Manko. The Kazakh Zhansaya Adykhanova and Abish Baikanov duo will make a debut.
"All the athletes will perform new programmes in Tallinn. And for Aiza it is the first official tournament after the Olympics. The programmes of Manko and Panikhin are good. The main objective is to score as many points as possible. The athletes are the first athletic duo in the history of our country. Zhansaya Adykhanova took part in the 2017 Winter Universiade between singles. So we decided to make a duo of Zhansaya and Abish. It is pleasing that Zhansaya had such desire, they have a potential," said head trainer Kuralai Uzurova.
Note, the Kazakh athletes are to take part in the international tournament in Zagreb on December 4.
