Kazakh Foreign Minister has presented President's initiative on leaders' dialogue
Milan holds the 25th session of the Council of the Foreign Ministers of the OSCE participating states.
The Kazakh Foreign Minister has presented the initiative of Nursultan Nazarbayev announced during the ASEM Meeting in Brussels, a press service of the Foreign Ministry informs.
"The President of Kazakhstan underlined the importance to regulate international conflicts by a joint discussion of the leaders of the EU, Russia, USA, and China. It can be organized as a social session under the aegis of the UN, and Astana could be a platform for such a high session," said Abdrakhmanov.
The Minister underlined the commitment of Kazakhstan to the regulation of the conflicts within the OSCE and beyond, the active participation in the international joint efforts to resolve regional and global problems.
"On the basis of the principles of the Helsinki Final Act, the OSCE participating states agreed on the joint vision on a free, democratic and undivided Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian community of security during the 2010 Astana Summit, however the ways to reach it remained undiscussed. Therefore the high-level conference on the 45th anniversary of the Helsinki Document will be a significant measure in this direction," said the Minister.
Kazakhstan stands up for the strengthening of the OSCE's toolkit in the elimination and regulation of conflicts, action against terrorism, radicalism, trafficking in persons uncontrolled migration. According to the speaker, the Astana process on Syria plays an important role in reducing threats to the Euro-Mediterranean dimension of security.
In order to promote synergy of the international organizations in the area of combatting challenges in Eurasia, the participating States were presented with the initiative of the Head of State on a joint meeting of the secretariats of the OSCE, CICA and ASEAN Regional Forum of Security.
Kazakhstan intends to organize a high-level OSCE meeting on Afghanistan in Astana in 2019. The event is aimed at a regional partnership, the relationship between security and development.
"Speaking of security and development, a huge potential of OSCE economic and environmental dimension should not be overshadowed, which can establish bridges and consensus on many vital issues. One of such possibilities can be the establishment of a new OSCE generation in Astana specifically engaging in the sustainable interrelation by exchanging the best practices, analysis, and research," said Kairat Abdrakhmanov.
Milan also holds bilateral meetings with the heads of delegations of Italy, Austria, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Serbia, Estonia, Monaco, Bulgaria, Romania and so on with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.
