Kazakh Information Minister: Asia Media Dialogue is a good opportunity for Kazakhstan to sell its content
More than 150 delegates from 40 states of Europe and Asia will visit Media Dialogue of Asia that will be held in Kazakhstan for the first time.
Kazakhstan from July 10 to 12 will hold Medial Dialogue of Asia for the first time, the event that is timed to the contemporary tele- and radio industry will gather more than 150 delegates from 40 states of Europe and Asia. As part of Media Dialogue of Asia, seminars, conferences, as well as a song festival of Asia radio will be held, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
“We are glad to give a start to Media Dialogue of Asia. That is our first large scale project with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). The Union is the largest non-commercial professional association that includes 292 broadcasting organizations from 69 states of Asia with the potential audience of 3 billion people,” said the Minister of Information and Communications of Kazakhstan, Dauren Abayev.
According to him, the event timed to the development of the contemporary tele- and radio industry gathers Secretaries-General of such influential operators on the market of mass communications as the Union for the Mediterranean, the Arab States Broadcasting Union, the radio of India, as well as more than 150 delegates from 40 states of Europe and Asia. The agenda of seminars for heads in the sphere of media will include the issues relating to the creation of a radio format from nothing, audience evaluation. The final event will be a conference Media-2020 with the aim to discuss the common issues for media in Asia and Europe.
“Nowadays, Kazakhstan’s tele- and radio industry actively develops: more than 200 tele- and radio-channels are registered in Kazakhstan. Analogue, digital, cable, as well as satellite broadcasting networks successfully run. At the moment, the Ministry holds an active work to gradually switch to digital broadcasting. The domestic channels make their first steps to sell their content abroad,” said Abayev.
He noted that on September of the present year, Kazakhstan plans to hold Astana Media Week. The Minister also noted the special role of a building of Kazmedia centre that according to his plays a central role in tele- and radio broadcasting of our states
“The centre has an advanced infrastructure that allows to receive and send a TV signal to any part of the world. We are open and interested in cooperation with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. For Kazakhstan, it is a good opportunity to sell its content, to actively participate in international projects, as well as jointly resolve issues of technical modernization of TV- and radio broadcasting. I am sure that the project of Media Dialogue will be successful for all participants and will be the beginning of productive cooperation between Kazakhstan and ABU,” said Abayev.
Media Dialogue of Asia is held from July 10 to 12, the organizers of the event are the Ministry of Information and Communications of Kazakhstan and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union and Kazmedia ortalygy.
