Kazakh Information Minister believes Jas Qalam will be an effective site for dealing with problems in journalism
According to the Minister, journalists should be able to adapt quickly in a flow of changes.
The Kazakh Minister of Information and Communications, Dauren Abayev, outlined the key problems the modern domestic journalism has at the Forum of the Jas Qalam large-scale youth project, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
"Over the last 15 years, it is possible that journalism either has lost its intensity or honed its feather, from one extreme to the other. You should know this profession inside out (...) You are to get correct and clever answers to the correct and clever questions. Your work is important as it affects all efforts of Kazakhstan, including the development of the civil society. After that, officials will understand their responsibility that is impossible to hide," said Dauren Abayev addressing to young journalists at the Forum of the Jas Qalam large-scale youth project.
According to the Minister, the domestic media sphere rapidly develops in the wake of the key trends of the global communications revolution and journalists must be able to adapt in a flaw of changes.
"I am sure that the Forum will turn into an effective and viable site for discussion and finding solutions to the most urgent issues of the sector. We will be glad to hear all your ideas and proposals. I thank the Fund of the First President for being active and supporting young professionals of the media," said the Minister.
Astana has held the Jas Qalam Forum in the Nazarbayev centre. More than 100 people have taken part in the Forum, including young present journalists, journalism students, and those interested in the media.
