Kazakh PM met with IPC President Andrew Parsons

Kazakh Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with the International Paralympic Committee’s president Andrew Parsons, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
The meeting has discussed the further development of Paralympic sports in the country and the world, as well as the details on the holding of the Astana 2019 World Para Powerlifting Championships this year in Kazakhstan. It has been noted that this large-scale social and sports project of international level will give fresh impetus to the development of types of para powerlifting in Kazakhstan.
The three exercises such as power squats on the upper part of shoulders, horizontal bench press, barbell bentover rowing will defined the athlete’s skills. Para powerlifting is about competitions among disabled athletes.
On 4 July 2018, the first Paralympic Training Centre in Kazakhstan located in the Karaotkel village was opened in Astana with the participation of the Head of State. This Centre focuses on the quality and professional training of the national teams and sport reserves in summer and winter paralympic sports.
The World Para Powerlifting Championships that will take place from 29 June to 6 July in Astana is the final qualification competition before the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, bringing together 400 athletes from 90 countries.
