Kazakh scientist suspected in aiding Mukhtar Ablyazov

The ex-head of the pharmaceutical plant in Boryspil was convicted in the money laundering in the amount of 1.3 billion hryvnias.  

The Kiev Prosecutor’s Office suspects a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kenneth Alibek in aiding to legalize revenues criminally received by the organized criminal group in large amounts. It is noted that money was illicitly withdrawn during crediting the reconstruction of the pharmaceutical plant “Maks-Bell” in Kiev region by BTA Bank, Interfax.com.ua reports.

According to the data of the Single state register, in the period from 2006 to 2010 Kenneth Alibek was a founder and head of the SPOCC “Maks-Bell” (now – “Pharmeks”), which was used by ex-holder of the Kazakhstani BTA Bank Mukhtar Ablyazov to legalize stolen money.

Ablyzaov is convicted in steeling more than 7.5 billion dollars. The Ukrainian and Russian authorities have the same claims against him, which incriminate him the embezzlement the amount of more than 2.5 billion dollars. He is sentenced to 20 years in prison with confiscation of property in absentia, with a penalty of 300 MCI and without the right to do professional activity in any banks during three years and serving the sentence in the institutions of maximum security.

On the facts of illicit withdrawal of money and its legalization, the Ukrainian National police in the beginning of 2017 announced a new suspicion and the Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s Office addressed to France with an additional petition on extradition of Mukhtar Ablyazov to Ukraine for criminal prosecution concerning “Maks-Bell” (“Pharmeks”)

We remind, Kanatzhan Alibekov (well-known in the USA as Kenneth Alibek) is a microbiologist, expert in immunology, biotechnology, biotechnological synthesis, acute and chronical diseases.

As the message says, in case the court convicts him, Kenneth Alibek is to be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
